【摘要】:1.1Thistestmethodcoverscompressionresidualstrengthpropertiesofmultidirectionalpolymermatrixcompositelaminatedplates,whichhavebeensubjectedtoquasi-staticindentationperTestMethodD6264/D6264Mordrop-weightimpactperTestMethodD7136/D7136Mpriortoapplicationofcompressiveforce.Thecompositematerialformsarelimitedtocontinuous-fiberreinforcedpolymermatrixcompositeswithmultidirectionalfiberorientations,andwhicharebothsymmetricandbalancedwithrespecttothetestdirection.Therangeofacceptabletestlaminatesandthicknessesisdefinedin8.2.Note1Whenusedtodeterminetheresidualstrengthofdrop-weightimpactedplates,thistestmethodiscommonlyreferredtoastheCompressionAfterImpact,orCAI,method.1.2Themethodutilizesaflat,rectangularcompositeplate,previouslysubjectedtoadamagingevent,whichistestedundercompressiveloadingusingastabilizationfixture.Note2Thedamagetolerancepropertiesobtainedareparticulartothetype,geometryandlocationofdamageinflictedupontheplate.1.3Thepropertiesgeneratedbythistestmethodarehighlydependentuponseveralfactors,whichincludespecimengeometry,layup,damagetype,damagesize,damagelocation,andboundaryconditions.Thus,resultsaregenerallynotscalabletootherconfigurations,andareparticulartothecombinationofgeometricandphysicalconditionstested.1.4Thistestmethodcanbeusedtotestundamagedpolymermatrixcompositeplates,buthistoricallysuchtestshavedemonstratedarelativelyhighincidenceofundesirablefailuremodes(suchasendcrushing).TestMethodD6641/D6641Misrecommendedforobtainingcompressivepropertiesofundamagedpolymermatrixcomposites.1.5ThevaluesstatedineitherSIunitsorinch-poundunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Withinthetexttheinch-poundunitsareshowninbrackets.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemarenotexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemmustbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnonconformancewiththestandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
